Good to hear.

I hope that while becoming wsdl centric, the easy-to-setup interface
(i.e. direct API calls) will not be lost.
To clarify our side a bit more: We are developing a piece of server
software which will have a remote interface. Future plans include a
stable remote admin interface, so tat 3rd party vendors can write admin
clients of their own (to integrate our software with their own). So,
webservices as admin interface protocol seemed suitabel - BUT the
webservices implementations I've looked at so far (sun, axis) require a
full servlet container, access to a file system, and seem almost
impossible to set up 'by hand' as they are written config-file centric.
So, XSOAP seems to be just the thing - allowing a webservices interface,
but as easy as RMI to set up on the server side.
With XSOAP it seems we can just design the admin API in Java and use it
with standard java RMI, and add webservices capabilities in a second
step with relatively little work. So expect to hear more from us when
after we have a (more or less) stable release in a few months.
cheers
