I've been ordered to come up with a quick and dirty way to control
incoming and outgoing inventory components at my workplace. All I need
to do is keep track of the quantities on hand of about 100 item numbers.
This information would be saved as a database file in a network share
folder. MS Office on Windows is the environment.

IT is not my job description, but I'm nonetheless stuck with this task.
I will be the one setting this up and maintaining it; others will need
to access it only to see the quantities on hand.

My problem is I don't know squat about Access (or OO.o Base), and gave
myself an anxiety attack today trying to stumble my way through setting
this up, to no avail. No one else in this outfit knows Access, either.
I'm an OS guy and a hardware guy, not an applications guy. I need
someone to spend an evening or two with me getting me started and
pointed in the right direction. I'm a bright guy and a quick study, but
I'm totally flummoxed by this.

Reply-To: address is good. Name your price, and I'll see if they'll go
for it. If I have to (and can afford it) I'll pay for it myself.
