Re: alt+NNNN. That's how it's worked on MS systems since I was old enough to type, Alt+162, though it doesn't seem to work for me when I'm on Internet Explorer nowadays...Anyhow, in Linux--at least in Ubuntu--it doesn't seem to recognize the alt way of doing it, much to my ingrained habits dismay.

It depends.  Fry's has sales that are very competitive quite often.  I
haven't bought any parts online since Fry's opened, but I'm partially
spoiled by the instant gratification.

There's probably an alt+NNNN sequence but I don't know what it is.
There's an old link on the CINLUG site that talks about configuring the
Windows Keys to type accented characters.  It was written a long time
ago so I don't know how applicable it is, but it's available at
