Howdy, all!
The USTeams Project is looking to have an official Ubuntu LoCo team set up in every U.S. state by 2008.
I thought that was pretty cool and sat back and waited for someone else to step up and start the IndianaTeam, but it doesn't seem to be happening.
Thus, I'm thinking of starting it myself.
Would anyone here be interested in an Ubuntu Local Community Team for Indiana?
The main activities of a LoCo team are advocacy and supporting new users (well, some also do a good amount of translation work, but we wouldn't really need to do any of that...). Basically it would be a particularly newbie-friendly LUG based around a specific distribution and grounded on the Ubuntu Code of Conduct (which I'd like to think I follow in everything I do, not just when I'm involved in Ubuntu community stuff).
I am in no way considering dropping my membership in this group, nor am I suggesting anyone else consider doing so. I'm quite happy with this group the way it is.
I'm just thinking of starting another.
Any ideas? You may e-mail me privately if you want.
Hope this finds everyone having a beautiful day!
